Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington from Ohio dropped out high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling with finances. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace left the television series in 2005 to focus on an even more prominent role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version to Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. She also was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith, who is an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career when she was a teenager, playing small roles in several of her father's films and appeared with her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). She also appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. In the wake of several successful commercial films like World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In 2009, she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. The following years she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she was also seen on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles include as the main character The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021, with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this film she was awarded with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
